Due to technical difficulties, Monday's Laredo City Council meeting was postponed.
The decision was made to comply with the Texas Open Meetings Act Handbook 2022, which was adopted to help make governmental decision-making accessible to the public. In keeping with the act, as the technical difficulties would not allow for the recording/broadcasting of the meeting, the meeting would need to be postponed.
Monday's agenda originally included high-profile items to be discussed including the possible appointment of a new city attorney by interim city manager Samuel Keith Selman, a presentation of the binational park and further discussion regarding the integrated water plan.
Additional items included traffic concerns on Springfield Avenue between Calton Road and Hillside Road, the possible action regarding the purchase and installation of security cameras at El Eden Recreation Center, an update on the Los Martinez and Markley Lane Park project, and discussions over the second annual Family Night Under the Stars.
