Sellers was hired in January 2015 to be city manager for the City of Kyle, according to the city’s website. Before that, he was city manager for the City of Kilgore from October 2011 through December 2014. He worked for the City of Montrose, Colorado, from 2008 through 2011 first as assistant city manager and then as acting city manager.

Hendrix kicked off his time with the City of Kyle in September 2006 as the director of communications, according to the city. He became director of community development in 2011 before moving up to chief of staff in 2013. In October 2021, he climbed the ranks again, becoming assistant city manager, overseeing the public library, Economic Development Department, Police Department, Environmental Trades & Services Department, and Parks and Recreation Departments.
