Major Thoroughfare Plan & Impact Fee Feedback
cityofkeller.comThe Keller City Council recently called for a 30-day public comment period focused on proposed adjustments to the city's impact fees and an update to the Major Thoroughfare Plan. Public hearings for both have also been set for Tuesday, Sept. 20. Learn more and provide your input below:
Impact Fees
Allowed under Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code, impact fees are one-time charges assessed on residential and commercial development projects to help fund street, water and sewer capital projects that are necessitated by and benefit the development.
Proposed Impact Fee Maximums:
| Roadway Service Area | Estimated Roadway Impact Fee | Estimated Water Impact Fee | Estimated Wastewater Impact Fee |
| 1 (North of FM 1709) |
$1,748 | $6,539 | $2,764 |
| 2 (South of FM 1709) |
$1,998 |
Major Thoroughfare Plan
Keller's Major Thoroughfare Plan is the long-range plan for major transportation investments within the city limits, imagining what the Keller roadway network might eventually look like once the region achieves full buildout. The MTP is not targeted to a specific date in the future; rather, it is a roadmap for city leaders and staff to anticipate future infrastructure projects and their potential needs (such as right-of-way).
Public Hearing
The Keller City Council will host a formal public hearing on each of these items at their regularly scheduled meeting:
7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20
City Council Chambers,
Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Pkwy.
Please note that City Council does not intend to take action on these items the night of Sept. 20. Per state late, they will have up to 30 days following the public hearing to adopt an update to the impact fee schedule and Major Thoroughfare Plan.
Public Comment (NOW OPEN!)
City Council and staff will accept public comments on these two items up until City Council takes action on them in October. The links below offer a short form to provide comments about each that will be sent directly to appropriate staff and Keller leaders.
