The City of Bridgeport filled a central vacancy this week, hiring Bridgeport resident Corey Ingram as the city’s next finance director.
“There was excellent competition but Mr. Ingram’s extensive management experience, finance knowledge and auditing background made him a good fit for Bridgeport,” said Bridgeport City Manager Mike Murray.
Ingram, who has 29 years of experience in finance, started his new role Monday, the city announced Wednesday.
Ingram graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He and his family moved to Bridgeport in 2005, raising two daughters who graduated from Bridgeport ISD.
“Corey has been involved in the community for many years,” Murray said. “We are excited to have him on the team and look forward to him overseeing the city’s finances for many years to come.”
He served on the Bridgeport EDC, Planning and Zoning, Bridgeport Education Foundation and Chamber of Commerce boards.
Previously, he was executive vice president at First State Bank. Ingram worked at the bank for 17 years before leaving the position in 2021.
Ingram replaces Lindsey McNabb-Fox, who accepted a position in Shawnee, Okla. She led the finance department since 2021.
