Dallas-based Billingsley Co. has built thousands of North Texas apartments, most of them in its big developments, including Cypress Waters and Austin Ranch.
Now the developer is headed to McKinney with a major multifamily development.
Called The Chase at Wilson Creek, the project is planned on almost 58 acres on the north side of U.S. Highway 380, west of North Central Expressway.
The $120 million development is planned to have 17 residential buildings, three amenity buildings and a parking garage, according to planning documents filed with the state.
Scheduled to start in late November, the project was designed by Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc.
Billingsley has controlled the property since 2005.
McKinney has been a fast-growing apartment market, with hundreds of new units built in the last few years.
Dallas-Fort Worth is the country’s fastest-growing apartment market with more than 50,000 new units on the way.
