NAVASOTA CITY MANAGER RECEIVES ICMA DESIGNATION
Navasota City Manager Jason Weeks has received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.
To receive an ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
Weeks is one of 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
Navasota Mayor Bert Miller said the designation shows Weeks’ commitment to continuous learning and professional development as a professional manager.
Miller went on to state that he feels that this is a value that is essential to building and maintaining a strong and effective organization to deliver the exceptional services their citizens deserve.
Weeks was appointed earlier this year to be the Navasota City Manager after having previously served as the Assistant City Manager in La Porte.
He has also been a Director or Assistant Director of Finance for the cities of McKinney, Fairview, Oak Point, and Greenville.
