Tony Chavez hired as Raymondville city manager Tuesday; will take over Dec. 1 from retiring Eleazar “Yogi” Garcia

Raymondville City Commission members met in closed session Tuesday with Lyford Mayor Pro Tem Tony Chavez, then announced he was hired as city manager. Chavez, who is tax assessor collector and accountant for the Lyford Consolidated Independent School District and worked there for 18 years, thanked Raymondville officials for allowing him to advance in his career.
