Longtime Vernon Police Officer Wayne Hodges was appointed Police Chief for the City of Vernon on Wednesday morning.

A 3-member panel, consisting vetted a large pool f candidates down to four finalists, and those four were interviewed by the Vernon City Commission this week on Monday and Tuesday night in closed session. After consulting with the city commission following the interviews, City Manager Marty Mangum selected VPD Captain Wayne Hodges as the new chief, to replace Randy Agan, who resigned to take a position in the metroplex.
