Garin Giacomarro has been named acting director of economic development by the city of Grapevine, replacing Larry Holt who has left to take an economic development position in Los Angeles.
Giacomarro describes himself as an economic development professional with a passion for growing relationships, exceeding expectations, improving processes, and building up his community.
“I’m always seeking new challenges and ways to grow professionally. I have a background working for local city government and chambers of commerce but hold a wide variety of skills that are applicable in many settings,” he said on his LinkedIn page.
Giacomarro has been with the Grapevine for more than seven years, and previously was assistant director of Economic Development where he managed business recruitment, retention, partnerships, and marketing efforts.
Grapevine’s Economic Development Department has helped create more than $2 billion dollars in total investment since its inception in 2014. That’s one of the highest rates in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Grapevine notes.
