Midland City Manager Robert Patrick has set a date for his retirement. In the Midland City Council agenda packet, there is an item calling for the execution of an employment agreement with the city manager.

Midland City Manager Robert Patrick has set a date for his retirement.

In the Midland City Council agenda packet, there is an item calling for the execution of an employment agreement with the city manager.

“The term of the proposed agreement commences on Nov. 16, 2022,” a memorandum from John Ohnemiller states, “and terminates on April 28, 2023, at which time Mr. Patrick plans to retire from service for the City of Midland.”

Patrick become city manager in April 2021. According to a previous Reporter-Telegram article, he had previously served as interim city manager and assistant city manager. He has worked for the City of Midland for around 12 years.

In a question-and-answer with the Reporter-Telegram in 2021, Patrick hinted that this day would come.

“After serving in city government in many differing roles for the past 28 years, it is great to cap my career in a wonderful city like Midland as the city manager,” Patrick wrote.
