A proposed 12-story apartment building for downtown Fort Worth is going before city regulators Thursday, and the latest rendering shows a new look for the exterior.

The city’s downtown design review board is scheduled to consider the plans for The Jones at 1000 Jones St., currently a parking lot across from Fort Worth Central Station. As of earlier this summer, the project would have 408 units and a 10-story garage.

A new rendering shows a more monotone exterior with a slightly different pattern of balconies, compared with a rendering submitted to the city this summer. Additional details about any changes to the proposed number of units wasn’t immediately available Thursday.

This rendering of The Jones was submitted to the city this summer. The exterior colors and design appear to have changed since then.
Resia Residential

The project is proposed by Miami-based developer Resia. It is the latest among several major residential projects in downtown, and one of the largest in terms of units. Developments in the works include the 27-story Deco 969 apartments at 969 Commerce St.

Initial plans for The Jones showed 240 one-bedroom units, 144 two-bedroom units and 24 three-bedroom units. The proximity to the Fort Worth rail station would allow residents to easily commute to Dallas or take a train to DFW Airport.

Resia, formerly AHS Residential, is developing the 322-unit Rayzor Ranch multifamily housing on Heritage Trail in Denton, as well as other projects in Dallas, Houston and Atlanta.
