City of Laredo Appoints New Airport Director

LAREDO, Texas - Laredo Interim City Manager, Rosario Cabello, has announced the selection of Gilberto Sanchez as the Laredo International Airport Director.
Mr. Sanchez has served as Interim Airport Director for the past year, but he has been employed by the City of Laredo for over 18 years in various positions. Previously, Mr. Sanchez was the Budget Director, where he expanded on his team management experience by working along the City Manager’s Office and all City departments.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Laredo International Airport and its wonderful staff as Director. We will continue striving for new routes and development for our air cargo industry in order to become a leader on economic growth for the region. I am looking forward to applying my skills and experience towards growing and improving the Laredo International Airport,” said Gilberto Sanchez.
Furthermore, Mr. Sanchez’s educational background in economics, becomes an asset in order to reach the strategic goals of the Airport’s operations and future development.
