Steven Loving Named New Brenham Fire Marshal
The City of Brenham has named a new fire marshal.

At Thursday’s Brenham City Council meeting, Fire Chief Roger Williams introduced Steven Loving as the new fire marshal.
A firefighter since 1987, Loving comes to Brenham from the Corpus Christi area, having worked for the Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department and Aransas Pass Fire Department. He has also worked for Tri-County EMS, the Port Aransas Police Department and San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office. He has served as the San Patricio County Fire Marshal since 2015.
Loving has been a licensed peace officer since 1993 and currently holds a Master Peace Officer license. He has certification as Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) advanced fire inspector, advanced fire investigator, advanced fire suppression and plans examiner. He also holds a master firefighter certification with the State Firefighters and Fire Marshals’ Association (SFFMA) and serves as chairman for the Fire Marshal Committee for that organization. He holds multiple other certifications within the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), TCFP and SFFMA certification programs.
Loving served with the sheriff’s office for 26 years as a patrol deputy, jail investigator, internal affairs investigator, employee background investigator, tactical response team member, crime scene technician and negotiator. He retired with the rank of sergeant investigator.
During his time with the Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department, Loving served as fire chief. In that post, he was awarded firefighter of the year in 2018 by the SFFMA.
Steven and his wife, Donna, have been married for 32 years and have two children, Chris and Rhonda, as well as three grandchildren, Jacob, Jayda and Aaron. Steven, Donna and their granddaughter have moved to Brenham and look forward to being a part of the Brenham community.
