Downtown San Antonio will be getting another skyline-altering tower in the form of a 28-story residential tower that will also three-floors of retail space.

With Civic Park already underway, the revitalization of the downtown San Antonio site of the 1968 World's Fair are coming into clearer view as plans for a 28-story residential tower are unveiled. Architects revealed a look at the apartment tower as it seeks approval from the Historic Design and Review Commission.
The tower will be built on Market Street next to the incoming 17-story hotel that will be right next door. HDRC agenda documents say that the 28-story residential portion will have seven levels of parking, three stories of retail space, and the rest containing 360 residential units and other amenities.

Site plans show those amenities include a gaming room, co-working spaces, a fitness center, and an amenity rooftop deck with a clubhouse and pool on the top floor of the parking garage building.
The mixed-use tower is part of the $340 million overhaul of Hemisfair, overseen by Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation. This project also includes the neighboring hotel tower and ambitious Civic Park project. Zachry Hospitality, the project lead on the hotel and residential portions, was set to be closing out projects last year, according to the original development agreement. But the company had yet to pay rent to Hemisfair PARC to build on the property.
