Belize City and Angleton, Texas sign Sister City Relationship Agreement

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the Mayor of Belize City, Bernard Wagner, Councilors Stephanne Hamilton, Kaya Cattouse, and City Administrator Stephanie Lindo-Garbutt participated in the official signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a sister city relationship with the City of Angleton in Texas.
The City of Angleton was represented by Mayor Jason Perez, Councilors Cecil Booth, Christiene Daniel, John Wright, Mark Gongora, and City Manager Chris Whitaker.
Betty Russo representing the Office of the Governor for the State of Texas also witnessed the signing.
“With this new relationship, Belize City and the City of Angleton have agreed to collaborate meaningfully to promote common development in both cities in areas such as art, commerce, disaster risk management, technology, sports, public health, administration, and especially student educational exchanges focused on technical and vocational education,” the Belize City Council said.
The Cities extended gratitude to Gina Aguirre from the Brazoria County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for making this connection between the 2 great cities.
Mayor Wagner and Mayor Perez took the opportunity to express their readiness and commitment to honor this agreement for the greater benefit of the people of Belize City and the City of Angleton.
