The La Grange City Council is considering Kevin Carruth of Rockport for the vacant City Manager position.

Carruth is one of the two candidates remaining among those interviewed by the Council back in November.

But he is the only one mentioned by name in the agenda for the next La Grange city council meeting.

The agenda for the City Council meeting Monday night, Jan. 23, states that the Council will meet in executive session to “Discuss counteroffer from Kevin Carruth relating to form of contract and continuation or termination of negotiations by interim City Manager and Mayor.” The City has been without a permanent top executive since former City Manager Shawn Raborn retired at the end of September last year.
