Kyle City Council approved a purchase order of $107,730 for fireworks to Ches-Lee Enterprises Inc. and American Fireworks.

The funds will go to the Kyle Fair TexTravaganza, Fourth of July and Pie in the Sky events. The company was recommended based on the quality of the show. Ches-Lee Enterprises Inc. and DBA American Fireworks also provided the city with a one-time 5% discount for all three shows.

According to agenda documents, the fireworks for TexTravaganza will take $29,165 out of the hotel occupancy fund along with $29,165 for Pie in the Sky and $49,400 coming out of the general fund for the Fourth of July.

“We’re really excited about bringing firework shows to these major events starting with the new event, the Kyle Fair, which will be launched from Lake Kyle Park,” Parks and Recreation Director Mariana Espinoza told Community Impact.

City Council will meet again at Kyle City Hall on March 7 at 5:30 p.m.
