EL PASO, TEXAS (CBS4) — With just a few days away from the possible lifting of title 42, the City of El Paso said they would be busing migrants out of the borderland to other cities.

"We have already received some of that assistance. We do have the transportation coming in to assist with busing migrants to another location so they can get their transportation settled from that city," said Deputy City Manager Mario D'Agostino.

Mayor Oscar Leeser said busing migrants to larger transportation hubs will provide migrants with more transportation options.

"Wo we want to continue to work with the state and other stakeholders to be able to take people to other NGOs in different cities where they can get buses where they can get flights," said Leeser.

Some migrants CBS4 spoke with say they were unaware that the city of El Paso would be transporting people out of the city but said it could help them get closer to their next destination.

some tell me they had their money stolen while trying to make it to the u. s.

"I need that help, my friend, so I can get stable and keep moving and achieve my goals," said Jose Guerrero, migrant.

"It would be a good option for me because it would help me save the money that I would have used to get over there. I could now use that money for other expenses," said Darwin Condo, migrant/

Guerro and Condo said they want to get to new york.

"I want to try to get a work permit so I can start working and be able to place my girls in school," said Condo.

D'Agostino said they will be working with other NGOs while transporting migrants.

He said they will be working with the state to add more places where to transport people to.

The city said migrants will be transported to those locations if they wish to go there.

"It's individuals who are choosing to go to that next city wherever it may be," said D'Agostino.

"We will work with NGOs at the receiving community as well as those local communities to make sure they understand that they are on their way and that they will be seeking travel arrangements out of their city."

CBS4 reached out to the Mayor's office to learn when the buses and those other resources will get to El Paso.
