The 260-megawatt Brazoria West Solar Project completed construction in late 2022, beginning to generate power in November, according to a Shikun & Binui Energy press release.

The project’s total output capacity would allow for the powering of about 37,100 homes, according to the release. The Brazoria West Solar Project will supply power to the Houston area, securing one industrial and one commercial power purchase agreement. This agreement is an arrangement in which an energy system is installed and operated on a customer’s property, who then purchases some of the energy output.

“Brazoria West is the largest solar project ever built by our group. It demonstrates our ambition to be a key player in the transition to a carbon-free future,” S&B U.S. Energy President Kevin Yaich said in the release.

The project’s construction began in the second quarter of 2021 with a commercial operation date, or the date when the project is expected to generate energy for revenue, in November.

S&B Energy—a company headquartered in Israel that develops, owns and operates conventional and renewable energy assets—is the developer of the project. The release states the Brazoria West Solar Project is the largest solar project built by the group.
