One local hotel group is among the four to offer a proposal to the Midland Development Corp. for the land where the Western United Life Building once stood.
Insignia Hospitality Group of Midland joined Valencia Hotel of Houston, Beitler Real Estate Services LLC of Chicago and Midland Downtown Renaissance, LP as the four to provide proposals, according to the City of Midland.
“At this time no details can be discussed,” the City of Midland reported on Monday.
Insignia Hospitality Group has hotels in 12 cities, according to its website, and four in Midland – two on I-20 (the Holiday Inn Express and Suites and TownePlace Suites), the SpringHill Suites near the Scharbauer Sports Complex and Holiday Inn Express and Suites on Loop 250.

Beitler Real Estate Services LLC, according to its website, is a Chicago-based firm that has developed more than 10 million square feet, including some of the largest and most architecturally distinguished projects in Chicago, the surrounding suburbs and the Midwest.
“Today, Beitler is a family-run company developing and investing in all types of real estate projects, including: office, retail, hospitality, residential and public / private ventures,” its website states.
Valencia Hotel, based in Houston, is a hotel management company, specializing in the development and operation of full-service luxury hotels, according to its website.
Valencia Hotels include The George in College Station, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio and Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose, California.
