EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — The City of El Paso is looking to make improvements to some roadways.

City leaders are expected to approve two different advanced funding agreements for road improvements in both northeast and far east El Paso.

The first advanced funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation would be to create a roundabout in northeast El Paso at Titanic Avenue and Howard Street.

The total cost of this project is estimated to $218,885.36, but the city would be forking out less than half that amount.

If the agreement is approved and signed by the city manager, the city's participation would be $87,123.65

The second agreement with TXDOT would cost the city around $23,703.51.

This money would go towards an environmental assessment and construction of a traffic signal at the intersection of Edgemere Boulevard and John Hayes Street.

The total cost of the project is expected to come out to $523,863.29.

Both agreements are part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program.

The Texas Transportation Commission has already authorized the state to undertake and fund these projects with the city’s help.

City Council will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m.
