St. David’s HealthCare will build an 80-bed behavioral health hospital in North Austin.

The 63,000-square-foot facility will offer mental health services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients near St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. The facility will have indoor and outdoor therapy areas, a separate adolescent area and outpatient services, according to St. David’s HealthCare. There will also be space to add an additional 12 beds to the facility in the future.

Construction will begin in late 2023, and the new facility will open in late 2024. More than 200 jobs will be created by the opening of the new facility, according to St. David’s HealthCare.
