It’s only May, but already League City officials are working on the fiscal year 2023-24 budget, which will begin Oct. 1.
The big picture

- July 24: utilities, engineering, streets, planning, building, neighborhood services, economic development, project management, information technology and facilities
- July 31: administration, public safety, parks and library, communications, finance, budget and human resources
- Aug. 1: outstanding items and wrap-up
- Aug. 8: public hearing on budget
- Aug. 22: second public hearing on budget and first reading of budget ordinance
- Sept. 12: second and final reading of budget ordinance
- Sept. 20: deadline to adopt budget
