The City of Fairfield will be searching for a new city administrator soon.

Nate Smith, the previous city administrator, stepped down from his position Wednesday morning. In an email Smith sent to several news outlets, he stated that he and the city "have mutually agreed to separate."

Smith also said that "all inquiries as to current projects or future inquiries need to be directed to City Secretary Misty Richardson (misty.richardson@fairfieldtexas.gov) or to Mayor Kenneth Hughes (Kenny.hughes@fairfieldtexas.gov)." Smith has been with the city since 2018.
