Roanoke police chief to fill additional role as assistant city manager

Roanoke police Chief Jeriahme Miller will also be serving as assistant city manager.
Miller joined the police department in 2003. He rose to the rank of sergeant in 2006 before promoted to commander in 2012 and then assistant police chief in 2016. Miller has been the chief since 2018.
Miller’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in public administration and a master peace officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He also earned a yellow brick as a graduate of the FBI Academy, according to the city press release.
Miller has led the police department through seasons of dynamic growth, including achieving state accreditation for best practices through the Texas Police Chiefs Association and numerous successful multiagency partnerships.

Chief Miller’s dedication and continued leadership has helped usher the city of Roanoke into impressive growth while maintaining safety for citizens.
