Gas system restart to continue Tuesday

Gas crews in Port Aransas are close to finishing for the day (Monday, March 20), according to an update provided by City Manager David Parsons.

Parsons issued the update shortly after 7 p.m. today.

The rest of his update:

“We’re estimating 400+ services were turned on today. We’re hoping to match that number again tomorrow.
“Corpus Christi crews and Equix crews were a huge help today. They are also returning tomorrow.
“We will continue to get as many services turned on as safely as possible.
“For after-hours service calls please call city hall at 361-749-4111 during working hours. Additionally, state-certified plumbers can also turn services back on, this you would have to do on your own.”
City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Port Aransas gas system went down throughout town Friday night due to a mechanical problem experienced by the city’s supplier. The city has been working ever since to get the system back up for everyone.
