Bell Textron broke ground on a $20 million facility in Grand Prairie Wednesday to complement its existing complex east of Highway 360.
Bell estimates it will complete construction on its 38,000 square foot Drive System Test Lab in 2024 and begin operations the next year.Bell's executive vice president of military business, Keith Flail, says the lab will give the company a place to assemble its next generation of aircraft and stress test the gearboxes and other new technology.
In December, Bell announced it had won the weapon system development contract for the Army's Future Long Range Assault Aircraft.
