That includes a house that went viral on TikTok in two different videos on Thursday, as the home at 121 Amarosa in Boerne features a massive foundation, about as big as the surrounding homes. The two videos have been seen nearly 10 million times combined and have more than 550,000 likes between them.
"How are you supposed to get to the front door," user billsmith54 wrote in the caption of his video.
The other user, real estate agent (although not for this home, which has already been sold) Jessica Martinez, wrote that the client likely asked for something different from all the other homes in the neighborhood.
The home was built in the Esperanza community in Boerne by Coventry Homes. The home is just one story atop its foundation, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a two-car garage, according to the home's listing. The home is 2,465 square feet and was listed for more than $650,000, and the home is estimated to be completed by April.
TikTok users had several suggestions as to why someone would build that big of a foundation.
"Zombie proofing your home is HOA approved," user jrcon wrote.
"Tell me this is in a flood zone because that's the only way it makes a little bit of sense," another user, LostAngeles213, commented.
"The owner knows something we don't," another user suggested.
Finally, a more realistic reason may have just been the view.
"It's probably because they want a view, and the HOA restricts the house height measured from the top of the foundation," user Bengal Tart wrote.
