The Adventure River features a “beach-like” zero-depth entry pool, multiple deck sprays, waterfalls and a waterfall bridge, and is part of a larger recently completed outdoor waterpark expansion. On Wednesday, amid a Central Texas heat wave, Kalahari expanded its outdoor waterpark, adding multiple new attractions for adults and children alike.
Kalahari added nine new slides to a new children's play area, a kids-free swim-up bar, and the 900-foot Adventure River.
The play area, called Bugs Burrow, has a zero-entry pool, swings, and nine slides, all themed around bugs. The swim-up bar, for adults only, is called the Thirsty Turtle, and can be approached from the water or land.
Adventure River also has zero-entry. Half of the new attraction features waves that wind guests through curves. The other half is a lazy river for relaxing. In all, it is 3 feet deep, with deck sprays, waterfalls, and a waterfall bridge.
“Nothing beats Texas summer heat like being at a waterpark! Kalahari is dedicated to continuing to improve our resort, so guests have beyond-expectations experiences when staying with us,” said Gerson Velasquez, General Manager, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, in a release. “Here at Kalahari, we truly have something for everyone to enjoy, from 2 to 92. Our newly expanded outdoor waterpark offers even more activities for guests this summer, from our new ‘Bugs Burrow’ children’s area to our one-of-a-kind Adventure River; this is sure to be the best summer yet.”
The new outdoor waterpark is accessible both to resort guests and people who purchase day passes.
