SAPD officers hospitalized after one squad car crashes into another

Two SAPD officers were hospitalized early Thursday after an SAPD vehicle crashed into another.

Two San Antonio police officers were hospitalized overnight after one of their police vehicles crashed into the other on the North Side. 

The crash happened early Thursday at West Avenue and Basse Road. Police said the two officers were responding to a call about an officer in trouble. 

As one of the officers tried to make a left turn on Basse Road, the other officer crashed into their vehicle from behind, causing it to spin out of control and strike a utility pole, police said.  

Both officers were taken to University Hospital by EMS and are in fair condition, police said.
