Buda City Manager Micah Grau appointed Lindsey N. Baker as the city's new assistant city manager, according to a July 10 press release.
Grau said he was excited to have Baker join the team.
She will oversee communications, parks and recreation, destination services, the library, information technology departments and legislative affairs.
According to a press release, Baker holds a Master of Public Administration in public policy with Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and French from the University of Oklahoma. She has spent the past two years with the city of South Lake Tahoe, California, where she led city efforts to improve transit and mobility options and oversaw human resources, communications, parks and recreation, government affairs and public information.
Prior to working in South Lake Tahoe, Baker spent 15 years in the Texas public sector, serving as the director of government affairs for the Denton County Transportation Authority and the intergovernmental relations/public information officer for the city of Denton.
Baker said she was excited to return to Texas.
“It is an honor to join an extraordinary team in serving the community of Buda. More than anything, I look forward to getting to know the residents, business owners, elected officials and other stakeholders, all of whom form the fabric of this incredible community,” Baker said.
Baker will begin her new role July 17.
