Grand opening of 35W Alliance Connector paves way for growth in north Fort Worth

Former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and District 10 Council Member Alan Blaylock joined other local government, regional and state officials for the grand opening of the North Tarrant Express 35W Alliance connector segment June 20.

According to a previous city news release, Fort Worth is the nation’s fastest growing large city. Former Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley said that Fort Worth officials have taken a proactive approach in thinking ahead of growth and decreasing the congestion issues experienced in other cities.

According to a city news release, the 6.7-mile section of the new North Tarrant Express 35W project improves capacity, safety and mobility throughout the entire corridor. The project is a result of regional, state and federal efforts that checks off several goals including: Quote of note

“As a representative of north Fort Worth’s new District 10, I’m possibly more excited about this opening than anyone,” Blaylock said. “This is a huge deal for the over 90,000 residents—and counting—that live in north Fort Worth. I ran on a platform of making our city a better place to live, work and play, and improved infrastructure and roads are two of my top priorities. I'm thrilled to see this facilitate faster, safer travel between Alliance and downtown Fort Worth, both of which are significant economic engines for our city and our region.”
