Mohamed Bireima named director of planning for city of Rosenberg

With over 15 years of experience in city planning and development, including roles in Richardson and Pearland, Mohamed Bireima's appointment as the new director of planning is set to shape the future growth of Rosenberg, according to a city press release.
Bireima holds a master's and a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from The University of Texas at Arlington and is a member of organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association.
Assistant City Manager Joyce Vasut expressed excitement about Bireima's arrival, recognizing his understanding of the city's planning team's vital role in the community's growth. Bireima's decision to join Rosenberg city staff was driven by the city's promising growth potential and strategic location within Fort Bend County, offering an appealing quality of life near Houston, according to the release.
The impact
The planning department's mission is to facilitate quality developments in Rosenberg, assisting developers, property owners, citizens and business owners, according to the release. The department administers the city's subdivision ordinance, and regulates land development within city limits and, in some cases, within the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
