EL CAMPO, Texas - El Campo's new police chief, David Marcaurele, was sworn in on Thursday, June 1. The El Campo Leader-News reports he is a 30-plus year law enforcement veteran who has spent a lifetime calling El Campo home. The chief was hired in May by the El Campo City Council. He succeeds interim chief Terry Stanphill.
