Aaron Russell will begin his tenure as the city’s new director of public services June 21.

Russell succeeds Keith Marvin, who retired in May after more than seven years of service in Lewisville, according to a news release from the city.

Russell has more than 20 years of experience in city government. He served as Weatherford's assistant city manager for two years prior to coming to Lewisville. He was Burleson’s director of public works for 13 years, and he has also held roles in Addison, Decatur and Allen.

“Aaron's focus on customer service, innovation and collaboration makes him a perfect fit,” City Manager Claire Powell said in a news release. “He also brings with him a strong desire to mentor the next generation of leaders. Lewisville will truly benefit from the energy and passion he is going to pour into our community."

Russell is a licensed professional engineer. He holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from New Mexico State University. Russell’s specialties include capital improvements, drainage, water, wastewater, solid waste operations, and fleet and facilities maintenance.

“I am excited to be part of a team that has already accomplished so much,” Russell said in a news release. “This is an incredible opportunity, and I hope that my service will continue the tradition of great customer service and further Lewisville’s mission of building a diverse and connected community.”
