Perryton's outdoor siren system failed when deadly EF3 tornado knocked out power, city manager says

PERRYTON, Texas (KVII) — Perryton residents did not hear warning sirens because the deadly EF3 tornado knocked out power to the city before they could be activated.

"At the moment our people went to activate (the siren), we lost power," said City Manager David Landis.

The tornado killed three people Thursday and injured more than 100 others.
