City officials will discuss Rail District development standards and ordinances as well as a proposal to redevelop Cantex industrial properties at a special-called Sept. 21 meeting.

What’s happening?

Here is a look at the two items on the agenda: A portion of the meeting will also be dedicated to citizen input.

Diving deeper

The Rail District is not only smaller than other city spaces, but it also predates many of the city’s current development standards, according to meeting documents.

This is causing an adverse effect on future development in the area, which is also undergoing its own redevelopment, according to a statement in the documents.

Specific Rail District issues to be addressed at the Sept. 21 meeting include escrows, impact fees, park fees, 10% open space for commercial development and parking allocations.

Keep in mind

The meeting, slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., will be held in the fourth floor east wing tower in the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center at 6101 Frisco Square Bvd., Frisco.

City officials expected to attend include members of Frisco City Council, the Frisco Economic Development Corp. board, and the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission.

All members of each body may or may not be present, according to the agenda. No action will be taken during the meeting.
