POINT COMFORT – The Point Comfort City Council set a budget to find a new city administrator during its special meeting Monday, Sept. 25.
An advertising budget of $2,500 was approved following a closed session.
The city administrator was fired during the council’s Sept. 13 special meeting.
Also during the meeting, the council:
Approved the fiscal year 2023-24 budget. The budget shows $1,438,325 in revenue with $1,425,799.22 in expenses, leaving a surplus of $12,525.08 in the General Fund.
In the Utility Fund, the revenue is set at #1,735,500, with expenses of $1,734,500, leaving a surplus of $1,200.
Ratified the fiscal year 2023-24 tax rate of .9830 cents per $100 valuation.
Heard a request from Point Comfort Police Chief Troy Baxter to consider the Texas Municipal League’s retirement plan.
