SHINER, Texas - Shiner Police Chief Kevin Kelso resigned this week after close to two years on the job.

The Shiner Gazette reports the Shiner City Council named former Lavaca County Precinct 3 Justice Of The Peace Wayne Denson as interim police chief.

Kelso, an interim police chief in Beeville at one time, was the Seguin Police chief for a decade.

Before that, Kelso spent 22 years with the Victoria Police Department.
