Ethics Review Commission to review complaint against former city rep Claudia Rodriguez in November

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Officials with the city confirmed that the City of El Paso Ethics Review Commission will look into the complaint filed against former city representative Claudia Rodriguez.
The ethics commission will on November 8 and 9 at 5:30 p.m. to review and discuss the ethics compliant against the former city representative.

A complaint was filed against her on August 28 for her misuse of tax-funded gas cards while she was in office.
An internal review found she along with city representative Cassandra Hernandez both spent thousands of dollars in gas compared to their colleagues.
Rodriguez released a statement against the complaint saying;
"While I respect the rights of Mr. Laign to file such a complaint. I plan to vigorously defend myself, my reputation and the actions I took while in office."

Some of the findings revealed transactions made while a city representative was out of town and in other instances, the gas card being used outside of El Paso.
The findings included fuel card usage for former city representative, Rodriguez, who represented District 6.
Rodriguez is accused of making 86 transactions on the city's gas card totaling $5,293.
Rodriguez was out of office in December.
