FERRIS – The city of Ferris’ growth and popularity continue to rise, and when you ask Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams about the city’s emergence as one of the best kept secrets around, he has the numbers at his fingertips to demonstrate just how this “little town that bricked the world” has become one of the most appealing options in Ellis County.

“Compared to cities in Ellis County, Ferris has so much to offer, and it is just keeps getting better,” Williams says. “With new housing developments and businesses finding Ferris a perfect location just off I-45 the city is convenient and friendly, and we are growing by leaps and bounds.

Currently Ferris can boast the following:

• No. 1 in percentage of growth valuation from 2022

• No. 1 in percentage of new improvement growth from 2022

• The largest tax rate decrease in Ellis County history proposed for 2024

• The sixth highest valued city in Ellis County – among cities where the majority of the land mass is in Ellis County.

“We have an updated mission, an updated vision plan, comprehensive plan, downtown plan, and strategic plan that will take the city into 2027,” Williams said. “The strategic plan was originally established in 2020 and will serve as the longest serving contiguous implementation of a strategic plan in the history of the city of Ferris.”
