Multiple intersections in Southlake will be studied in an effort to help improve mobility throughout the city.

The gist

Southlake City Council approved a $113,500 engineering services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates for citywide intersection analyses.

The firm will observe existing traffic conditions for 24 intersections, according to the agenda item. Recommendations will then be made regarding signal timing, signal phasing, approach lane allocation, roadway alignment, intersection geometry and pedestrian enhancement.

The following intersections will be included in the study: Some context

Kimley-Horn performed a citywide intersection analysis in 2017, which focused on the intersections along FM 1709/Southlake Boulevard corridor and other city intersections.

The new agreement will look at intersections that were not part of that analysis while determining if traffic patterns have changed that would cause updates to the intersection recommendations, according to the agenda item.
