NCTCOG Training Updates
Published: Thu, 08/17/23

Many of you are familiar with NCTCOG and its vast resources for local government in the 16 county region and beyond.
GRA has chosen to partner with the training programs at NCTCOG since 2014 and we are excited to help them announce updates to their Training & Development Institute web pages.
In particular, we have heard that there are still a few open spots for our finance-related programs. Click the links below to find out more:
Public Management Academy: Municipal Finance for Non-Financial Executives
This 3-month program is for department directors who are peer groups with the CFO/Finance Director. Past participants have included Public Works, Public Safety, Human Resources, Community Services and similar department representatives.
This short program in municipal finance offers an insight into the various policies and practicalities of the management of a municipal finance department.
Public Finance Academy: New & Emerging Finance Directors
In these roundtable sessions, you'll connect with subject matter experts and peers in an intimate atmosphere, gaining exposure to insights, trends, technology, and fresh internal and external perspectives of the public finance sector through candid dialogue and interactions. Selected participants commit to attending at least 6 of the 8 sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion, letter of recommendation and a drafted press release.
Please let us know if you have any questions about those two programs! In addition to the above programs which GRA offers, we also highly recommend other related training opportunities, such as:
Public Finance Academy: Public Funds Investment Act
Contracts & Purchasing Academy
As a fee-based program, these training opportunities are available to regional NCTCOG members as well as entities across the state. Check them out!
