The Pearland Economic Development Corporation hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the $13 million facility on Tuesday.

"Millar's selection of Pearland for its headquarters and manufacturing facility is a testament not only to our status as a community of choice in the greater Houston area but also to our efforts to become the region's premier biomedical hub," said Pearland Mayor Kevin Cole.

The five-acre site, located at 11950 N Spectrum Boulevard, houses a 56,000-square-foot facility with about 140 employees and Millar's research, development and manufacturing capabilities, according to a Pearland EDC news release.

The Pearland EDC and city officials began working with Millar on its relocation to Pearland since 2017. The company's site for its facility was part of a tract owned by the Pearland EDC and was later sold to Millar.

"We are thrilled to welcome Millar to their new headquarters here in Pearland," said Matt Buchanan, the Pearland EDC president. "Today is possible after a years-long partnership, and we wish them continued success and growth."
