Original article: CPS Energy crews are working to restore power to more than 11,000 customers as rain hits parts of San Antonio and surrounding counties on Tuesday, August 22. The thunderstorms are moving into the area as Tropical Storm Harold moves through Texas, leaving some roads in Bexar County inundated with water.
53 active outages have left 11,402 CPS Energy customers without power, according to the utility's outage map at 6:20 p.m. That figure is up from 2,200 customers at 4:20 p.m., CPS Energy said in a tweet.
Crews are currently working to restore the outages which are reportedly weather-related and CPS Energy requests that drivers move over or slow down for crew and driver safety. The community can report downed power lines to CPS Energy at 210-353-4357.
According to the Bexar County flood map, there are six road closed at the time of writing:
- Cave Lane near Kenilworth Boulevard.
- Cheever Boulevard near Peacock Way.
- East Contour Dr ne.ar West Side Dr.
- Danville near Overlook Dr.
- Maltsberger Lane near Hwy 281 North and Wurzbach Parkway.
- Southwell Rd. between Huebner Rd. and Encino Park Rd.
