Tomball city officials are proposing $53 million in capital projects during fiscal year 2023-24, according to an Aug. 21 budget workshop presentation.

In a presentation during the Aug. 21 budget workshop, city staff proposed spending $53 million on capital projects in FY 2023-24, paid for in part by $28 million in certificates of obligation—a way to borrow money—to fund various capital projects, City Manager David Esquivel said.

“Now that we look at the number of projects we have, the cost of all these projects, we really need to take a multiyear look at—how do we manage our capital needs?” Esquivel said. “We’re setting up the capital projects fund in more of a multiyear strategy.”
