Shocking Number Of Dogs Taken From Lubbock Home

News/Talk 790 KFYO

Lubbock Animal Services announced on Thursday that they are in desperate need of foster homes for dogs after a shocking case of hoarding at one Lubbock home.

According to Lubbock Animal Services, 60-70 dogs have been removed from one home in Lubbock and the City of Lubbock shelter is at max capacity. If the 60-70 dog figure is accurate it could be one of, if not the worst case of dog hoarding in Lubbock. Back in 2020, the City of Lubbock seized 28 dogs from one home according to KAMC.

According to the City of Lubbock, only four dogs are allowed inside a home.

“The number of animals per household is 4 dogs and 4 cats with one litter under 16 weeks of age by City Ordnance. Four of each animal is the limit. Citizens may not use different combinations like 6 dogs and 2 cats and still have 8 animals. Four of each species is the limit.”
