Mismanagement and corruption are out of control at City Hall

Just one example of mismanagement and failure to abide the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) is the failure of the city to repair or replace dangerous sidewalks. Before we opened our Museum of African and African American Museum on Juneteenth 2020, I asked the city to replace the extremely dangerous sidewalk in front of the museum. The excuse has been for three and a half years, that the city has no money, yet the city destroyed the City Hall that was in excellent condition for no reason other than foolishly wasting what will end up being millions of dollars on various boondoggles.

My wife, for example, paid for 50% of the cost of the 1890's museum building and its contents, yet she is unable to even visit the museum as there is no ADA compliant sidewalk, that would make it possible for us to build a ramp for wheelchairs.

The rot at city hall starts at the top and works its way down to the good and loyal employees at the bottom, including outstanding policemen. firemen, and other loyal employees, that unfortunately are forced to comply with directions from on high, including orders to commit crimes and orders to ignore serious crimes including hate crimes.

One loyal and ethical policeman, recently told me that because of mismanagement at the top, he had resigned in July. We need a competent, ethical and honest city manager, city attorney, city secretary, police chief and department heads. It is over 100 years past time to dismantle the "good ole boy" system, in Huntsville and replace it with a system based on ethics to be led by citizens with the guts and tenacity to replace ethical bankruptcy with highly educated people dedicated to preserving our forests, historic buildings, wildlife and stopping mindless sprawl and instant slums.
