DPS trooper injured in major wreck in west Harris County

HOUSTON — A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured in a major crash in west Harris County Tuesday night.
It happened in the area around I-10 and Merchant’s Way. According to District Caption Donald Wine with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened after a chase. Wine posted to social media that multiple people were hurt in the wreck.
At this point, we don’t know the extent of the trooper’s injuries or the injuries of anyone else.
Mason Road and Merchant’s Way will be shut down for several hours to investigate, according to Wine.
