Folks come near and far to sip on the delectable wines available at Frederickburg's famed wineries. But no town can survive on wine alone, especially in the Texas Hill Country.
So, residents in the town got to talking and discussed what Fredericksburg is missing. One user in a Facebook group got residents to share what would be on their wish list for the Hill Country town.
"What is something highly desirable that Fredericksburg needs and does not have?" Zackery Tatsch said in the post.
While some jotted down affordable housing, parking, a movie theater, and a Chick-fil-A, others took some time to ponder what belongs in town.
"Bring back the dance hall! A true honky-tonk would be so fun to see back in town," said Alex Nall in the comments.
Another much-needed business in town that was asked for a lot was something for children to do. Brandon Carter added, "Kid zone, but kinda like Speed Zone, arcade, laser tag, go-carts, a skating rink, paintball all in one."
While people are asking for fast food and places for kids to play, one commentor thought of people that are in sports.
"We need an Academy, sports is the face of Kerrville and Fredericksburg and everyone has to drive to San Antonio for essentials," Frank Trevino said in the comments.
Paul Cooper is hoping the city adds a few more affordable places to stay in town.
"Hotels that aren’t overpriced without increasing amenities and quality. It used to be you could grab a decent room for less than $75/night. Now, even the roach motels are over $100-200/night for a broken bed in a tiny noisy bug-ridden room with little to no amenities. Some rooms are now over $300/night when they used to be less than $75/$80," Cooper said in the comments.
